ReplyDeleteI doubted I could do a counter pushup with my right arm not functioning properly since the car accident in 2021. To my surprise, I was able to do 10 counter pushups! Man! I could feel it too! I stretched afterwards because I read several articles that warned if you don't, your pec muscles can become restricted/tight and hamper mobility. I certainly don't need that!Anywho, I'm quite happy with myself for trying and will do some more later. As I get stronger, I will increase how many I do each time. For now, I'm just committing to one session of 10 counter pushups every day.

ReplyDeleteNot sure what movement will be today.. probably weed whacking and mowing.. darn tall out of control crab grass.
Probably not too much else. Been working since Saturday and Im wiped.
Got 20 mins of weed whacking done in this insane humidity. Real feel of 91 degrees. Not much compared to what JimmyJams had this summer but still hot!

DeleteHello ladies! Have t been around much lately, been so busy but grateful for a full life. I forgot about the counter pushups! Will have to challenge myself on those again! I actually wrote the amount daily on my calendar and it helped me to go 5-10 more each time. Upper body strength RULES!

ReplyDeleteTo me, 35 counter pushups and back stretches is awesome! I'm still at 10. I also completed a neighborhood walk and will do another 2 today. I have some errands in town and will get some extra steps in. Every bit of deliberate movement of my body counts!
DeleteI think you ladies both rock for doing your counter push up! I stink at push ups so I will have to try these counter ones! I have previous rotator cuff injury so any shoulder exercise I really struggle with.
DeleteI made it to the gym! Can still do an 11m7s mile! Can still do a decent amount of weight on strength training (thanks ED job lol) but my endurance is not as where it was before surgery. O ly a lil under 15 mins of machines. Did 22 mins of cardio (did almost 2 miles.. after 1.7 cooled down)
I did wall pushups today instead of using the kitchen counter. The cat was giving me an intense "state-down," so I told him, "Here's something for you to watch buddy!"
DeleteHe wasn't impressed and walked away. Lol! I finished with big forward arm circles and big backwards arm circles to stretch.

So far today I have done laundry, cleaned, and mowed part of the lawn in 90 some odd degree heat and humidity with my reel mower.

DeleteI really try! Mom came up and helped me with the lawn. I gotta be so careful of my bp/heart in this heat. Yesterday my bp got as low as 77/55. Right now its 84/60 so low but manageable. Tomorrows movement will be work in the AC lol!

ReplyDeleteCleaning is on my plate today. Otherwise it will mostly be an indoor day/rest day. Maybe some dancing today? Id love to do my weighted hoop if I could get my belly feeling better. Darn triage. Got my flyid levels down now Im up 3 lbs. Oh well. What can ya do??

Deliberate movement so far today was 10 minutes of stretching and 1/2 hour of trail walking with my poles and Daisy. Meet you at the pond pole sister/Julie! I walked half again as much as yesterday. Yay for getting stronger!
