  1. Will work to get myself back on track this week by watching portions, not snacking, or eating at night. Slice of toast to take my meds, pork loin and salad for lunch, dinner up in the air.

    1. I am re-focusing and getting back on track myself starting today!
I have indulged in too many ice cream treats as of late to beat the heat. I can and will make better choices!
Going to get an iced coffee and a cookie-dough protein bar for breakfast. I've been craving pasta. I think I will have a portioned serving of spaghetti with meatballs and green beans for supper. I will skip having garlic bread. Not sure about lunch, but I will keep it on the lighter side so I can enjoy my pasta without guilt.

  2. I am trying to get myself back on track today too. The days of working you dont know what youre eating what youre not esp when you go until about 5 or 6pm without being able to eat anything at all. I find myself eating at 10pm or so its terrible.
Today I swapped my broth for lots of fluids and egg whites. :)
Gonna have iced peppermint choc roobios/dandelion tea i made soon but for now its still my coffee.
Gonna have to just stay mindful today!

  3. Mindful is the word cel! Not sure what’s on my breakfast plate, but lunch will be a BLT(garden tomato) wrap, ear of corn on the cob, garden veggie salad. Should do me!

  4. It's been a busy day for me.
I enjoyed a delicious Turkey Medallion Chef Salad with ranch dressing for lunch.
    Not sure about supper yet.

  6. Easy day of planning during a fasting day! Will have a dry piece of 12 grain light bread to take vitamins, and call it a day of black coffee, water, and a cucumber for lunch. Not sure how I will break my fast around 6:30 tonight. Looking forward to the energy and confidence it provides.

    1. I swear we're using the same playbook Cindy!
I too, will be breaking my fast at 6:30 pm. and don't have my "breaking-fast meal planned out yet!

  7. Mine will prob be an egg white bake and roasted veggies. Rn Im having coffee and Millie's plant based sipping broth. Had lemon water and vinegar this morning first thing waking up. Been going strong since 630pm yesterday with just water or fluids under 5 cals. Mentally need it since I woke up hungry at about 10pm or so and again at 230am from my eating schedule being off from work lately and I am ready to have my eating schefule back on track.

    1. An egg-white bake and roasted veggies sound delish Cel!
I've never heard of sipping broth. I will have to do some googling:-)
      Have a great day!

    2. Sounds like a great plan! It might be considered cheating, but I let myself have a cucumber( water-based food) so I don’t feel deprived and fall off.

      Delete
    3. I think a cucumber is an excellent choice and it's added hydration too. Bravo Cindy!
I had a Coke zero cherry flavor. I've not felt "hungry" today yet. I am going to get an iced coffee, black, to power me through my afternoon.

    4. Yes! Millie's sipping broths. They are on amazon. I used to find em at Walmart. I found these ones at the dollar store I was so excited! I had the Pho ones today (vegan) and I have some of the thai lemon grass and I have had the tomato basil before. All very good! About 320mg of sodium usually per bag. Much better than other soups/broths. Still higher than I usually do but given the fasting state I was okay with it. :)

    5. I was looking at Millie's sipping broth just a few seconds ahead of your reply.Ha! Thanks for the info!

  8. I havent felt hungry yet either. And always listen to your bidy, Cindy! A cuke is only about 20 calories of hydration and vitamins anyway! For me its about lack of solids rn more than anything. I made some homemade pickles again today (lol Cindy the fresh garden cukes were tempting when smelling it all sliced up but like I said lack of hunger and lack of wanting to put solids in my belly rn to give my intestines a break were only reason I didnt eat a couple slices!)
Have some garden zucchini thawing for the egg white bake. Gonna put in cauli, zucchini, tomato, mushroom, and peppers and onions and dill.

    1. Well, I was doing quite well not being hungry until you made my mouth water, cel!!. That sounds wonderful!. We are heading to our local joint to use a gift certificate, so it might be boneless wings for me. I will go easy on them.! (I think I stepped on a wasp and got stung on the of bottom of my foot. I am nursing it now, wow does that hurt!!)

      Delete
    2. Ouch! Sorry you stepped on a wasp Cindy! I know that hurts!
I didn't get an iced coffee after all. I am however sipping a coke Zero.
Boneless Wings with bbq sauce ate a favorite of mine. I just may get the 5 count from Arby's and give Bella the small fries:-)
Not sure as I'm still not feeling hungry.
Enjoy your outing and wonderful that you have a gift certificate!

    3. Oh ouch, Cindy! Take care of your tootsie! You guys sound like you have some good meals planned! I ended my fast at 4pm with some watermelon and a couple raw green beans and some of my pickles and a spoonful of hummus.
Just ate my egg white bake and it was delicious! Had a lil broth with it too. Put some veggies in the broth but wasnt feeling like having much of them. Had a few lentil crisps. Im stuffed!

    4. Well, it’s 830 and I haven’t broke my fast yet!. All of our plans changed as I needed to babysit a little tonight, so hubby is fixing me grilled salmon and garden veggies. Much better plan than I thought!!. Foot feels much better, thank you

    5. Very sweet of your hubby! He is a keeper!
IDK, what went wrong for me. I only had a 1/2 tablespoon of peanut butter to 'break" my fast and that was only because I thought it would help the sick I was feeling. About the time for breaking my fast, I had gotten a coke zero fountain drink at the convenience store and was sipping on that thinking about getting boneless chicken wings, when the first of 3 bouts of diarrhea struck, as well as lots of sweating. I grabbed the peanut butter and a measuring tablespoon and got some peanut butter in me. It was difficult though as I was also feeling twinges of nausea at this point.
I was miserable and considered calling an ambulance or driving myself to the ER. I fell asleep and thankfully, upon waking, I feel better. I don't know if the fountain drink dispenser wasn't cleaned properly. (I've had food poisoning before and it felt like that.) Or, too long so fast for me.
I never got sick on 17:8 fasting do I think that's what I will do next time.I don't plan to buy anymore fountain drinks, so that should help me determine the culprit if my next fasting day goes well. I have to say that except for around 10 pm last night, I didn't feel hungry all day and still don't.I am going to eat a slice of dry toast to get something more in me.
      Sorry for the long comment.
      Have a good night!

    7. Update: Feeling much better. Got the bbq boneless wings at Arby's. They forgot the small fry much to Bella's disappointment. They gave me an extra wing so I cut up one for Bella and 1 for Tyler. We all enjoyed!

    8. Oh my! So sorry you had to go through all that Julie!! it does sound to me like it could very well been that fat drink are used to love those as well, and probably haven’t had one in seven years. It will be interesting to see the next time you try to fast. Glad you’re better.! I felt really good this morning. got up a half hour earlier. I don’t know why it helps me. I’m always flushed out really good and have so much more energy.🤷‍♀️

  9. I have fasting labs early this morning, so I will grab a bite of something following to take my vitamins with. really have no plans for the rest of the day. I need to be more of a “planner”. It really helps to stay on track.!

  10. I am feeling energetic today. I'm surprised after getting so sick yesterday, but, thankful and gladly accept this great feeling
I am fasting today. No fountain drinks! I do have a Coke Zero Cherry 20oz. bottle and will sip that. I am going to stick with H2O for my main hydration beverage. I will evaluate how I feel throughout today. I'm only planning to fast for 16hrs, and will break it early, if I become sick.
I did flush 3lbs away which, I'm happy with though, I don't recommend food poisoning for weight loss. Ha!
I will report how my fasting day went this evening
    Have a Fantastic day everybody!

    1. So glad you are feeling better. !I literally have only had water ,ice tea ,or coffee for about 7 years now. Don’t miss that pop a bit. I’m enjoying a beautiful lettuce garden salad for lunch.

    2. Your lunch sounds delish!
I am working my way back to no soda regular or diet. I know I felt better when I was only drinking water, coffee, and teas. I'm not buying anymore sodas so when my supply is gone from the house, I aim not to restock them.
I gave the odd regular sodas I had, (from Walmart curbside pickup errors,) to the neighbor.
      I'm getting there!

  11. I broke my fast after 18hrs. I didn't become sick, which leads me to conclude that it was the fountain drink that made me sick yesterday.
I felt fine and could've gone for 24hrs, however, that would mean eating at 11:30pm. I like my supper between 5:30-6pm.🤠

    1. Great job Julie👏👏👏It will be easier to be rid of pop just remembering you got sick from it! I used to really love to stop at fast food joints for burgers and fries until my husband got food poisoning from a hamburger at McDonald’s.SOOOO sick! Neither one of us have been to a fast food place since, and that was 10 or so years ago. It took the desire totally away.

    2. Oh yeah! I was pre-paying for gas yesterday and the clerk said I earned a reward of a free fountain drink. I said, "No thanks!"

  12. Thinking of having a beautiful fresh peach off my friend’s tree with 1/2 cup of cottage cheese for breakfast. Might have to miss lunch as I’ll be driving. I’m not sure what supper plans will be with hubby.

  13. I had honey-hot boneless wings from Arby's and gave the fries to Bella. I really didn't like the taste of them today. I think I am over them and any fast food. It doesn't taste as good as it used to, and my digestive system doesn't seem to like it anymore either
I seriously need to get groceries tomorrow so I have tastier and healthier choices in the house.

    1. I haven't had an egg in a while myself. Great idea, thanks!
I was up late so I am getting a late start this morning. I lost 2 more pounds this week for a loss of 5lbs! (3 were from food poisoning.) I'm happy the scale is going down again as I had been in a frustrating"holding" pattern that seemed to go on forever.

      Delete
    2. Hope the wedding was fun, Cindy!
Im getting very frustrated with my scale :( I finally lost 3 lbs of fluid in 1 night just by sleeping tons and now sleeping about 8 hrs a night plus busy day its back up 2 lbs.

  16. Got a late start to my day. I haven't eaten yet, so I am going to fast until supper
I just got back from a grocery and other necessities run at Dollar General. It's hot and the sweat is rolling down my face. The salt from my sweat burns in my eyes! Ha!
I'm proud of myself for not being tempted to even look at the cookie/candy/chips aisle!
I did get myself one treat. A Capt Crunch Berry bowl. I haven't had that Cereal for years.I hope it tastes as good as I remember it because that and a cup of Fairlife lactose free milk is what I will break my fast with.

    1. GREAT job on your weight loss Julie!!! That sounds like a fun treat to break your fast! I have only 3 lbs to hit my goal of when I retired. I want to maintain within 5lbs when I get there. Had a beautiful bowl of chopped fresh garden veggies

    2. Your salad sounds delicious Cindy! I got salad greens, carrots, cucumbers, and red onion to make salads with.

  17. Sorry you were unwell JimmyJams! Sometimes when I fast for over 20 hrs my body CLEANS HOUSE. Lol!
I accidentally fasted for 24 hrs at work the other day. Was too busy to eat.
Minus today I have been good about getting back into my IF schedule. Today I had a spoonful of hummus in the AM after only 13 hrs of no food. Otherwise I usually go 15-20 hrs on a daily basis now since that i itial fast. Feels much better tbh. Thats what my usual schedule was until I got out of whack from work and being home from surgery and all the upheavels in life.
Today I made a poor food choice. Well the food itself isnt. But I was super hungry amd instead of waiting til I got home to have my meal I finally ate around 6pm I snacked on cauliflower stalks from the store in my car on the way home from my brothers around 4pm. I try not to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Having my coffee and broth right now. (I dont count clear 5 calorie broth in a fasting period). Not sure entirely when my first food of the day will be or what it will be yet. Ive been craving a peach lately and I just read about the peach tree on here lol! Now I really may get a peach or a nectarine!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Haven’t got past the coffee yet, but about to fix hubby his Sunday breakfast of eggs, toast, bacon, and hashbrowns. I’m thinking that peach sounds good too cel! Not sure of what else today
