I miracle grow once per week.
ReplyDeleteI also never weed when my garden is wet. Plants are sensitive when they are wet. Best to let them be.
I try to use something for my cukes to grow upward on so the cukes dont sit on the ground. This prevents dirty cukes and less rot on them too.
I have potted plants AND a ground garden fornthe first time this year. Laat year I didnt do a potted garden. Its allowed for me to try more plants and I am learning some interesting things about what some plants like and others dont!
Very cool Cel! Thank you for sharing your insight so maybe I can avoid making some mistakes:-)
DeleteCel, great idea about cuke support! Love to hear about more people trying gardening. Hubby has thrown himself into garden care since retirement but leaves the three raised beds for me. I’m still harvesting rocket and kale, green onions and herbs. Lots and lots of herbs! Sweet basil and Thai basil this year too. I’ve made presto for the freezer and have large baskets of herbs drying right now. Have been experimenting with “weeds” and have harvested clover, plantain leaves, purslane (yummy in salads, stirfrys, soup and green smoothies), yarrow, marigold and hibiscus blossoms which are all good in teas. Oregano and thyme also make delicious teas I’ve found, and are calming. Stocking up my witchy jars!
ReplyDeleteKathy - dandelions are a great weed too! The greens are good for stir frys or salads the flower for teas or jellies etc. Violets make amazing jelly as well. Or can be added to.salads.
